This cinema has recently been acquired by SCOTT CINEMAS SOUTHWEST LTD. Full company details and contact information are available on our homepage.
We hope to build on the success of the previous management, whose policy of family entertainment and quality films, at value for money prices, has worked so well in this area of the city by reflecting what the residents of Henleaze and surrounding districts want.
No major changes are planned in the programming policy, pricing or staff at the Orpheus, but we do intend to improve the cinema itself wherever possible. Apart from refreshing the entrance, foyer and toilet facilities we will be introducing 24 hour, automated, advance telephone (as well as online) booking. These improvements should be in place by April. We are also investigating whether, given the constraints of the auditoria, the screen sizes can be enlarged a little.
Loop systems for the hard of hearing and soft subtitling for the deaf will be installed, as will audio description for the visually impaired and blind. Sadly, the construction of the building does not allow for the wheelchair accessibility available in most of our sites.
Over the course of the coming year we will be adding Bristol to our highly popular Silver Screen seasons, showing the ‘best of the best’ from the previous six month’s titles. These morning shows include free tea, coffee and biscuits and the opportunity to discuss the film or just pass the time of day. Also planned are Director’s Choice performances of critically acclaimed films, world cinema and other niche categories.
All of us at Scott Cinemas are looking forward to playing a part in the life of Henleaze, and hope you will welcome what we do.
ENJOY THE SHOW!
